Ryan’s choice tonight. He was really great helping me make the ravioli filling. We must’ve rolled over 60 little balls of mince together – and that’s some concentration for a 5 year old.

This international night thing is going down a treat – the boys are just lapping it up. Once again – no problems getting them to clean up their plates – Ryan took a little convincing that the Gnocci pasta shells were actually the same as spaghetti, just a different shape – once he got that, he was all good.

TONIGHT’S MENU

ENTREE:

Pane Dorato (Tuscany/Florence) golden fried bread with Guyére cheese on top (Guyére is a very nice cheese – I had the remainign on my sandwiches for the rest of the week!)
DINNER:

Ravioli Nudi (Tuscany) Naked ravioli, the filling of ravioli without it’s pasta clothing, in a nice sage butter sauce. And a good italian red – for us not the kids

DESSERT:

Schiacciata alla Fiorentina (um.. Florence) – a soft citrus cake with a Crema Pasticcera filling. Traditionally an easter/equinox celebration cake as winter merges into spring.

Finished off with a good, strong, italian doppio ristretto, again – not for the kids – off to bed with them!

NEXT WEEK: Sam’s choice – Madagascar… this’ll be interesting, thanks Pixar for putting big ideas in kids’ heads!
